AB50 goes to the Governor's desk for Signature

Now that AB50 has passed thru the legislature, it is waiting for Governor Schwarzenegger's signature. If he signs it, we're done. But if he doesn't sign it and it just sits there, it will become law in 30 days. So the only thing we can hope for is that he vetoes AB50.

But we have to do more than hope - WE MUST TAKE ACTION.

Please contact the governor and urge him to VETO AB50 (and SB1152 while you're at it). Of course all the evidence is on our side: lack of any crime committed with a 50 caliber rifle; lack of access to 50 calibers by criminals due to their price and heavy weight; reduction in revenue to the state due to loss of retail sales of 50 cals; reduction in revenue to the state due to lack of competition shooting involving sportsmend and women from other states who can no longer bring their 50 cals into the state, and; the umpteen other reason not to ban 50s, that I'm sure you are quite aware of. Use these facts in your letter to Arnold and maybe he will side with reason and veto this lame excuse of a law introduced out of concern for public safety. We have to keep trying. This is OUR state - we are not going anywhere. And we won't give up until the battle is over.

"AB50 - Bans .50 caliber rifles and ammunition. This bill passed the Assembly after a "re-vote" in which certain Assembly members voted on behalf of other absent Assembly members, apparently without their knowledge or permission. "SB1152 - Registration on all ammunition purchases. This bill would require the disclosure of your name, address, birthdate, and fingerprint for all ammunition transactions. Records would be available to law enforcement upon request."
